Betty is a finance and accounting executive that brings astute business acumen as well as over 20 years’ of proven leadership in the technology, renewables and natural resource sector. She is a strategic, diligent, focused, and passionate by nature with proven leadership and strong business acumen bridging the gap between finance and strategy. A forward-thinker that excels at translating a vision into actions and taking the necessary steps to create the future. A keen ability to solution problems, drive profit and cash flow through cost reductions, convert finance into a cohesive tangible story and streamline processes. Leads and executes projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple reporting and organizational lines. Expertise spans domestic & international markets from start-ups to multimillion-dollar organizations. Finance leadership backed by operational & technological expertise, M&A experience from due diligence to integration, transformation leadership & change management, restructuring & reorganizational leadership and onboarding of new technologies. 

In addition to being a Partner of HIVE, Betty is currently the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of Proactive Investors. Prior to joining HIVE, Ms. Soares was formerly the CFO of Jade Power, Spark Centre and Argo Gold, moreover worked as Chief Accounting Officer and Vice-President Enterprise Financial Performance Management at Yamana Gold Inc. where she played a key role since the Company’s inception in its aggressive growth plans providing financial strategic leadership to take the Company forward.  Ms. Soares has a Bachelor’s of Administration (Honors) from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Certified Professional Accountant. Ms. Soares is also a member of FEI Canada and a member of the Women’s Executive Network.
