Mr. Daya brings an abundance of experience to HIVE within the Real Estate Sector. KC is a true entrepreneur who started his campaign in 2005 when KC first established Clifton Blake with a small group of investors, acquiring and managing rental properties. KC has worked for some of the largest real-estate companies in the country, namely, Morguard Investments Limited and Brookfield Properties. The Acquisition and Asset Management groups of both companies would prove to be extremely influential in shaping KC’s investment outlook and real estate acumen. KC is thoroughly immersed in real estate: financing, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, development and valuations of all types of commercial assets. KC has an MBA in Real Estate Finance and Strategic Management from the Schulich School of Business, a B.Sc. from McGill University, and is an Old Boy from Upper Canada College.
Petra C. Decher CPA, CA
Independent Director, Resource Sector
Ms. Decher adds a wealth of financial and mining industry experience to our HIVE Advisory Board with over ten years of experience in the industry. Petra has extensive experience in negotiating and completing mergers and acquisitions and various forms of financings in the mineral sector, with significant exposure to the challenges of junior explorers. In addition, she has implemented strong internal control policies, procedures and corporate governance practices in several newly-listed companies. She is familiar with all aspects of financial reporting, tax and legal due diligence, preparation of financial statements, audit committee functions as well as investor relations. She was formerly the VP, Finance and Assistant Secretary of Franco-Nevada Corporation, is a Chartered Accountant and is on the Board of Directors for a number of mining companies.
Fernando Ragone CPA, MBA
Mining Finance Leader & Chief Financial Officer at Baffinland
Fernando brings an extensive understanding and knowledge of corporate finance and mining to HIVE's Advisory Board, with over 22 years of international experience. Fernando has lead finance teams in both operational and corporate environments, having worked in Australia, USA, Ireland, Mexico, Argentina, and Canada for international companies. Fernando brings experience in financial reporting and financial management processes as well as corporate finance, treasury and risk management, with a profound knowledge of operational processes and challenges. Currently, Fernando leads Business Improvement for Primero Mining and have served as its Finance Director for a few years. Fernando formerly was the Chief Financial Officer for Glencore Zinc North America, managing a complex group of mining operations, smelters, commercial metal trading, and development projects with revenues of over $5Billion. Previously, Fernando worked in numerous operational sites across the world leading finance and administration teams. Fernando started his career working for several years at PwC. Mr. Ragone is a Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario, and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University Catholic of Valparaiso, Chile and also holds a Chartered Accounting designation from University National of Tucuman, Argentina.
David Brosbell

David provides a deep connection to risk management; specifically, transferable solutions. He has 17 years experience in complex risk insurance placements. He has set up and managed dozens of operating and construction insurance portfolios for mining companies, with domestic and international assets. David has led risk management workshops bringing finance and operations together extrapolating top risks and mapping them from a severity and frequency perspective. His expertise stretches across multiple insurance products including: Property, Liability, Directors’ & Officers’, Course of Construction, Crime, Cyber, Reclamation Bonding, M&A insurance and Political Risk. David is a partner at Purves Redmond Limited (PRL), the leading independent mining broker in Canada and runs their mining practice.
